    * Graduated from Barberton High School 1957. Lettered in football, baseball, and basketball. Starcher is currently Director of Intercollegiate Athle- tics, baseball coach and Associate Professor of Physical Education at Malone College in Canton, Ohio. After receiving his B.A. degree from Olivet Nazarene College in 1965 he served three years as a high school coach. In 1967 he was granted a M.Ed. degree from Miami (Ohio) Univ. and began his college career at Olivet Nazarene as head baseball coach.

    In 1972 he came to Malone College to his current position. In sixteen years of coaching college baseball he has compiled a 322-172 record. His Malone Collegeteams have won 10 NAIA District 22 (Ohio) Championships including the last 8 in a row. His teams have won 8 Mid-‘Ohio Conference titles including the last 5 in a row. He has been selected Coach of the Year in NAIA District 22 (Ohio) five times and inthe Mid-Ohio Con- ference 8 times. His 1973 squad won the NAIA Area VI Regional and participated in the NAIA World Series in Phoenix, Arizona and was ranked 7th in the national NAIA poll. The 1976 squad which was 30-9, finished 8th in national rankings.

    Starcher has coached on the international level. In 1974 he was an assistant coach for the USA Sports Ambassadors Squad in Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua; in 1977 for the USA College All-Stars in the Intercontinental Cup in Managua, Nicaragua; in 1981 for the USA College All-Stars in the USA Korea Friendship Series in Seoul, Korea and in 1979 as head coach for NAIA College All-Stars versus the Korean University All-Stars in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

    He has served as President of the Mid-Ohio Conference, NAIA Baseball Coaches Association and has served on the Executive Board of the American Association of College Baseball Coaches.
